School Cell Phone Policy

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I am writing to remind all families of our school’s policy regarding student cell phones. Students are not permitted to bring or use cell phones during the school day. We have noticed an increase in students using their phones to contact parents directly to make changes to pickup or drop-off arrangements. This has led to miscommunication and confusion in the front office, as staff may not be aware of these changes or able to confirm them.

To ensure the safety and clear communication of all students, any changes to pickup or drop-off plans must go through the school office. If a student needs to contact you during the day, they may do so using the office phone with permission from a teacher or staff member.

We appreciate your support in helping us maintain a safe and well-organized system. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Thank you,
Ms. Walton

Forty-Fifth Annual Take a Kid Fishing

Our students took part in the Take a Kid Fishing event at La Paz County Park. They all had the chance to go fishing, and a few of our students were lucky enough to receive prizes from the raffle draw.

Spelling Bee

On February 13, 2025, Sonora Whedbee, a fourth grader, and Vada King, an eighth grader, proudly represented our school at the La Paz County Spelling Bee in Parker, AZ. Both students displayed remarkable effort and talent throughout the event, with Sonora achieving second place in the competition. Congratulations to Sonora and Vada for their hard work and impressive performances!

Stay Safe Around Bats

Staying safe around bats is crucial, especially considering the potential health risks they pose. Bats can spread rabies, a serious viral disease that affects the nervous system and can be fatal if left untreated. It’s important to educate yourself and your family about the behavior of these creatures and how to interact with them safely. Please see the Staying Safe Around Bats flyer for more information. By fostering awareness and understanding about bats and their behavior, we can coexist safely while appreciating their role in our ecosystem.
